Bordering an open park with direct access to the mountain, this project in Tamboerskloof re-imagines an existing garage to accommodate both functional storage and a rentable guest cottage. The garage was modified to allow for easy reversing and the detachment of rooftop camping gear, with a soffit designed to house the equipment neatly. Above, a compact, self-sufficient cottage was added—carefully nestled among the trees to remain hidden from the main house. With its own private entrance and panoramic views of Cape Town and Table Mountain, the cottage offers a serene and secluded experience, now available for rent on Airbnb.
